10 Day Renovation: DEMOLITION

3-6The world is unprincipled. It’s dog-eat-dog out there! The world doesn’t fight fair. But we don’t live or fight our battles that way—never have and never will. The tools of our trade aren’t for marketing or manipulation, but they are for demolishing that entire massively corrupt culture. We use our powerful God-tools for smashing warped philosophies, tearing down barriers erected against the truth of God, fitting every loose thought and emotion and impulse into the structure of life shaped by Christ. Our tools are ready at hand for clearing the ground of every obstruction and building lives of obedience into maturity. 2 Corinthians 10:5
If you’ve ever watched extreme makeover Home Edition, you know the first thing they do, actually one of the adrenaline rushes of the show, is the demolition. The homeowner is handed a sledge hammer and they are given the honor of tearing down the walls and disaster they’ve been staring at. They usually let out a scream, a few woot-woots or a major sigh of relief because they know at the back end of that hammer swing is the laid out plans for a whole new world.

Hmmm. I’m thinkin it’s time to grab our hammers and get ta swingin’

Get rid of the thoughts that have caused you to think less of who you really are. Demolish the thoughts that have considered the alternative and/or easier route. Demolish the junk in your life. Whatever you’re looking at, listening to, speaking about, hangin’ with/around, all of that junk starts to cause corrosion in your life. DEMOLISH IT!

Demolish the sluggish opportunity to do just enough to stay fit. After a while your body will basically stop responding to the ‘just enough’ and just enough won’t even matter. DEMOLISH IT!

Demolish those little pockets of fat called cellulite by movin’ just a little quicker, makin’ your muscles wake up and take notice that something different is happening. They will thank you!

Demolish the thought that reading while you’re on your treadmill is effective. IT’S NOT! Sure it’ll pass the time, but if you’re really able to read and those words aren’t bouncing up and down on the page, then you have to ask yourself are you really exerting yourself?

DEMOLISH IT! Yes, THAT. Demolish that excuse you keep makin. Your life will not move if you continue to make the excuses your friends. Misery really does love company and it’s BFF is called excuse and fear! DEMOLISH THEM TOO!

I could wait for someone else to do what I know I’m suppose to do but you know what, I refuse! I refuse to sit back and watch my life stand still waiting for something to happen. I’m gonna do what I know I need to do instead of just enough. Grab your hammer. It’s demolition time!
