Freedom Scriptures

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (Galatians 5:1)


We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired even of life. Indeed, in our hearts we felt the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and He will deliver us. On Him we have set our hope that He will continue to deliver us. (2 Corinthians 1:10)


In my anguish I cried to the LORD, and He answered by setting me free(Psalm 118:5)


Since the children [are human], He too shared in their humanity so that by His death He might destroy Him who holds the power of death– that is, the devil — and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.
(Hebrews 2:14-15)


Guard my life and rescue me; let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in you. (Psalm 25:20)


The LORD lives! Praise be to my Rock! Exalted be God, the Rock, my Savior! He is the God who avenges me. . . who sets me free from my enemies.  (2 Samuel 22:47-49)

Even to your old age and gray hairs I am He, I am He who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you. (Isaiah 46:4)


For He will deliver the needy who cry out, the afflicted who have no one to help. He will take pity on the weak and the needy and save the needy from death. He will rescuethem from oppression and violence, for precious is their blood in His sight. (Psalm 72:12-14)


When they cry out to the LORD because of their oppressors He will send them a savior and defender, and He will rescue them. (Isaiah 19:20)


Jesus, whom God brought back to life . . . is our only Savior from God’s terrible anger against sin. (1 Thessalonians 1:10, The Living Bible)


But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were entrusted. You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness. (Romans 6:17-18)


Call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me.

If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and He will rescue us from your hand, O king. But even if He does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.” (Daniel 3:16-18)


Be sure of this: the wicked will not go unpunished, but those who are righteous will gofree(Proverbs 11:21)


What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God– through Jesus Christ our Lord! (Romans 7:24-25)


But now He has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in His sight, without blemish and free from accusation. (Colossians 1:22)

If we could be saved by his laws, then God would not have had to give us a different way to get out of the grip of sin — for the Scriptures insist we are all its prisoners. the only way out is through faith in Jesus Christ; the way of escape is open to all who believe Him. (Galatians 3:22, The Living Bible)


Our God is a God who saves; from the Sovereign LORD comes escape from death. (Psalm 68:20)


My eyes are ever on the LORD, for only He will release my feet from the snare. (Psalm 25:15)


For you, O LORD, have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling. (Psalm 116:8)


Set me free from my prison, that I may praise your name. (Psalm 142:7)


He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The LORD sets the prisoners free, the LORD gives sight to the blind, the LORD lifts up those who are bowed down, the LORD loves the righteous. (Psalm 146:7-8)


If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. (John 8:36)


For He will deliver the needy who cry out, the afflicted who have no one to help. (Psalm 72:12)


But you, O Sovereign LORD, deal well with me for your name’s sake; out of the goodness of your love, deliver me. For I am poor and needy and my heart is wounded within me. (Psalm 109:21-22)


“Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the LORD.(Jeremiah 1:8)


Through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death. (Romans 8:2)


Rescue me and deliver me in your righteousness; turn your ear to me and save me. (Psalm 71:2)


My whole being will exclaim, “Who is like you, O LORD? You rescue the poor from those too strong for them, the poor and needy from those who rob them.” (Psalm 35:10)


The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe(Proverbs 18:10)


The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory for ever and ever. Amen. (2 Timothy 4:18)


Turn, O LORD, and deliver me; save me because of your unfailing love. (Psalm 6:4)


“Because He loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for He acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.” (Psalm 91:14-15)


Rescue me from deceitful and wicked men. You are God my stronghold…
