Anchored to Succeed

Question from one of my fitness/business mentors:
“Do you mind sharing what you did to make this happen”:

My response (from my heart):
“I just truly stopped trying to be someone else. I’ve been praying hard about who I am and living so that my truest self shows up, no matter where I am. I’m learning that I’m not one person as a fitness instructor and another person in my ‘personal life’. I am who I am. I can’t turn something on for one group of people then claim to ‘turn it off’ for another. I stopped trying to please people and focused on pleasing God.

At the beginning of the year I decided I was putting First Things First; that meant God first, everything else was second…including my plans. I figured if God wants it in my life, He’ll see to it that it happens. And here we are!

Thanks to my fitness/business mentors for the push! {Jenn Hall, Christine Dwyer, Chalene Johnson, Kelly Olexa}

I soooo appreciate my Pastor for holding us accountable! We’ve gotta hold each other accountable on EVERYTHING (spirit, soul, body, finances & relationships) my pastor calls those the arenas of life.  Arena-because that’s where battles are fought! And won!”

When you put your faith in God, raise your expectation!

There’s hope!

You have decided it’s time to make some changes and THIS time it’s going to be different. This time you’re going to be committed and do what you’ve set out to do. This time you’re not going to let life dictate whether or not you’ll succeed.

THIS TIME WILL BE DIFFERENT BECAUSE I FOUND MY WHY!

Knowing your why makes all the difference. Accountability is great but if you don’t know why they’re holding you accountability, they just start annoying you. Consistency is great, but if you’re just being consistent doing life threatening, defeating things, consistency becomes your nemesis. Goals are great, but a list of things you want to change which you can’t control (like ‘fixing other people’) or a list without a purpose is simply that, a list.

…without a vision, the people perish

A few month’s ago, I did something that was so simple yet difficult and probably the most life focused exercise I’ve ever done.  I wrote a “PRIORITIES STATEMENT”. In Chalene  Johnson’s book “Push: 30 Days to Turbocharged Habits, a Bangin’ Body and the Life You Deserve“, she kicks the book off by having us complete this little exercise that she describes as “The work you’ll do today will influence every area of your life for the rest of your life.” Trust me, like I said, I participated in the 30 Day Push challenge this summer and when I say doors flew open (Isaiah 22:22; Rev 3:8) for me simply because I became focused on my priorities, I had to start turning down opportunities. I HIGHLY suggest you grab your own copy!

Priorities brainstorming:

Priorities are those things that are so important that if they were stripped from your life you would be devastated, unfulfilled, and living without purpose. Who do you want to be? What do you want to accomplish? What makes you happy? What do you think is your purpose in this life? What gives you pride? What do you wish to be remembered for at the end of your life?

Over the next 30 Days, I’ll be carrying out my own PUSH goals I set and I’d love to see you living the life you deserve.  If you’ve recently set some goals for yourself, look them over and make sure they line up with your priorities. In addition to my ‘Daily Push’ I keep this list near by as a little ‘cheat sheet’. Consider this that ‘PUSH’ you’ve been lookin’ for to get things done!

Ok. It’s time. So what is it that you want?

10 lbs.

Thinner thighs.

Flatter abs.

Discipline.

More energy.

Part of knowing what you want is accepting what you already have.

What you have right now. What about the beauty in that?

Here’s your challenge for today.

Write out YOUR plan.

What do you want YOUR fitness to look like?

What do you want YOUR nutrition to consist of?

What do you want YOUR ‘success’ to feel like/look like?

I came across this today and thought this might be an inspiration to you as you write out your plan.  The Beauty of Now   -keep movin
